About this policy
Sterling Moving Services (“Sterling,” “we,” “us”) explains here how personal information is handled when you visit sterlingmovingservices.ca, request a quote or contact us about our moving services.
1. Information we collect
Our enquiry forms ask for your name, email address, phone number, moving date, move size, pickup and destination addresses, and any notes you choose to provide. Our correspondence and booking records may also contain details needed to prepare your estimate, arrange services and address your questions.
The website and its connected providers may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser/device details, pages visited, referral information and cookie identifiers. Please do not put payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information in the enquiry form.
2. Why we use it
We use enquiry and customer information to respond to requests, prepare and follow up on quotes, arrange and provide services, maintain necessary records, and resolve questions or disputes. Website data also supports site operation, security, traffic analysis and advertising measurement.
We do not send promotional newsletters, promotional texts or unrelated marketing messages. Quote follow-ups relate to your enquiry. You may ask us to stop following up on a quote; necessary communications about an existing booking may still be needed.
3. Selling, sharing and service providers
We do not sell customer information or provide customer leads to other businesses for their own marketing.
Information may be processed by providers that support our operations, such as our website host, email and communications services, booking/customer-management software including SmartMoving, and payment services when used. This operational processing is different from selling a customer list.
Separate website services, including analytics, advertising measurement, embedded video, maps and reviews, can receive technical or usage information when their features load. We may also disclose information where required or permitted by applicable law, or with your authorization.
4. Website cookies and external services
The website currently uses Google analytics/advertising tools and Meta tracking, alongside services such as Vimeo video, Google Maps and Trustindex reviews. These services can use cookies or similar technologies and process information under their own privacy terms. Website tracking is separate from Sterling sending promotional emails or texts.
You can use browser settings to block or delete cookies; some features may then work differently. Blocking cookies does not necessarily stop every network request or all data collection. Contact us if you need another way to request a quote. This policy does not claim that a cookie-choice banner is currently available.
5. Processing locations
Depending on the provider and service, information may be processed or stored outside your province or outside Canada and may be subject to the laws of those locations. We do not promise Canada-only storage. You can contact us for information about the providers used for your enquiry or booking.
6. Retention and protection
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here and relevant legal, accounting or dispute-related requirements. Retention depends on the type of record; this policy does not promise a single fixed deletion period.
We take reasonable steps to protect information and limit access to those who need it for their work. No website, transmission method or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
7. Your requests and choices
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, request access or correction, raise a concern, or ask to withdraw consent where applicable. We may need to verify your identity. Legal requirements or an existing service obligation may limit what we can delete or stop processing; we will explain relevant limitations.
